One of the keynote speakers at the Mat-Su Salmon Science and Conservation Symposium was internationally recognized fisheries scientist Dr. Katherine Myers. She is recently retired from the University of Washington’s High Seas Salmon Research Program where she had worked since 1980. Dr. Myers received the 2014 North Pacific Anadromous Fish Commission Award in recognition of her long-term leadership in scientific research and conservation, her extensive body of published work on Pacific salmon and steelhead, and for fostering international cooperation among researchers.

Dr. Myers’ keynote presentation was titled “Life-history, Ecology, and Potential threats to Mat-Su/Cook Inlet Chinook Salmon in the Marine Environment.”  Her presentation slides can be viewed here.
