{"id":7699,"date":"2013-11-29T12:30:56","date_gmt":"2013-11-29T21:30:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aksalmonalliance.org\/staging1\/?p=7699"},"modified":"2013-11-29T12:30:56","modified_gmt":"2013-11-29T21:30:56","slug":"krsa-initiative-to-save-kings-misleading","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/aksalmonalliance.org\/staging1\/2013\/11\/29\/krsa-initiative-to-save-kings-misleading\/","title":{"rendered":"KRSA initiative to save kings misleading"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Frank Mullen<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Kenai River Sportfishing Association is currently pursuing an aggressive campaign to \u201cSave our Kenai Kings.\u201d Perhaps you have heard their radio ads or seen their networking on social media.\u00a0 KRSA is using an interesting deception here.\u00a0 They seek to drive people to their website so that they can sign up to \u201cSave our Kenai Kings.\u201d But, when you get to the website, you are funneled into sending the Board of Fish your comments in support of KRSA\u2019s favorite board proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly enough, the board proposals you may support for the purpose of \u201cSaving our Kenai Kings\u201d will actually serve to \u201cSave our Kenai River Guides\u201d rather than the stressed kings. The proposals do nothing to address habitat issues in the Kenai River, which are critical to resolving the king problem.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that the KRSA attempt to \u201cSave our Kings\u201d is a calculated distraction from the \u201cbig truths\u201d, because the following are not mentioned in their deceptive appeal to \u201cSave our Kings\u201d:<\/p>\n<p><em>Due to copyright law, the Alaska Salmon Alliance cannot repost full articles.
